The MushFocus Brand Story

About Me

Heya, I’m Ralfs! Most of my days are deep in eCommerce; optimising systems, solving problems, pushing things to work better and faster. This mindset doesn't just stop at work, as I’ve always been curious about my own limits too: how far the body and mind can go, and how to support them without being reckless.

My fascination of mushrooms came from the OG’s like Paul Stamets (might sound corny, but I’m truly fascinated by his way of life), and from the first time I started growing my own Lion’s Mane, Portobellos, and other species, that made me see how complex, and misunderstood this whole space really is.

When I read “Entangled Life: How Fungi Make Our Worlds, Change Our Minds and Shape Our Futures” in the summer of 2025, something clicked, and it felt like that was my final calling to start something of my own.

This curiosity has roots even during my university years, I was in a rut, depressed, and struggling to get out of bed. When I started listening more closely to my body and mind, researching deeply, and exploring mushrooms through education, conferences, and lived experience. The international hybrid conference “New approaches in regulating psycho-emotional states opened my eyes to how nuanced the brain really is and how careless most marketing around it can be.

This is why I started MUSHFOCUS. Not to promise outcomes, not to sell magic, but to strip away the bullshit and show mushrooms for what they actually are: powerful, subtle, and deeply individual. This project is my way of sharing that honestly by inviting people to explore their own baseline with curiosity, respect, and zero fake guarantees.

About MushFocus

I started MUSHFOCUS because Lion’s Mane is sold as a guaranteed outcome when, in reality, it affects people very differently, and no one is honest about that.

Instead of promising focus or dismissing everything as placebo, I wanted to create a simple, structured way for people to take the mushroom consistently, pay attention to their own baseline, and observe what actually changes over time; if anything.

Not by being told what you should feel, and not by forcing belief, but by giving your brain a fair chance to respond under calm, repeatable conditions and deciding for yourself whether it earns a place in your routine.

The Problem With How Lion’s Mane Is Sold

Every Lion’s Mane supplement on the market is selling the same outcomes: better focus, mental clarity, sharper thinking, bla, bla, bla. The message seems so confident, and repeated so often that it starts to feel like fact. But when I looked closer, something didn’t add up...

There wasn’t enough real-world evidence to justify that certainty. It’s all just a lot of marketing language pretending the result is guaranteed.

I don’t want another belief. I want an answer, thus welcome the MushFocus protocol!
